Small businesses are what make up the heart of small towns across America. Every time an order is placed, someone does a little dance because they know that order will help put food on the table, clothes on their children’s backs and maybe even allow for their family to take a well-deserved vacation. So when businesses were being forced to shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic, those small business owners started to wonder how they would be impacted. What came next, while not surprising, is the silver-lining or bright light in this whole thing. People began rallying around these small businesses everywhere. You couldn’t scroll through your social media feeds without seeing hashtags such as #supportsmall, #lovelocal, #shopsmallbusiness, etc. There are even newly started Facebook pages and groups just for this purpose alone…rallying around our small businesses. These businesses are the ones who support the communities in which they serve by sponsoring schools, little league sports teams and donating to charitable grass-roots fundraising efforts. Therefore, it was important to us, as a small business ourselves, to try and help other small businesses during this time. Partnering with them seemed like the perfect way.

When we decided to create “gift sets” for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, we thought that a partner product was a great way to give our customer something awesome and support other small businesses not only financially but also by introducing them to our community of customers and social media followers. It was a no-brainer, a win-win-win!

For Father’s Day, we’ve created three themed gift sets – “Hoppy Dad,” “Dad Rocks,” and “Smokin’ Dad” – and we found the perfect partners to help make these gifts great! Let me introduce you to them now.

Wright Woodworks

Wright Woodworks is owned by Rick Wright, a Valrico, FL resident who took up woodworking while in the United States Air Force. Rick likes the challenge of making something from just an idea or thought and produces wood crafts from wine racks, bookcases, dining room tables and desks to small holiday decorations. He loves taking on custom projects. Rick has just started an online presence and you can reach him at rick@wrightwoodworks.com.

Rick’s wooden cigar stand is featured in our “Smokin’ Dad” gift set. To really enjoy a good cigar, you have to slow down, but you may not want to hold it the entire time. The stand is made from solid mahogany, is collapsible and portable and comes with it’s own storage bag for when not in use. The set also includes a cigar case with cutter and a wooden cigar holder. All packaged, wrapped with twine and finished with a wooden gift tag. $50 plus tax. Porch pickup in Valrico or shipping available. Click here to order yours today!
